The Design Director oversees all aspects of the Journal’s design, including layout, typography and use of illustrations, photos and information graphics. The initial focus will be on the print Journal operations but will also involve working closely with WSJ.com and other Journal brands to ensure consistent style and look for the franchise. Additional responsibilities involve staff management of more than 60 employees including art directors, photo editors, information graphics professionals, editorial illustrators and technical support staff; and ensuring the department’s budget goals are met.
