Erin Steele joins Dallas Morning News
Will Pry, News Editor of The Dallas Morning News, announces:
I’m pleased to announce that Erin Steele is joining the News Desk as an assistant news editor. Erin comes to us from the Abilene Reporter-News, where she is the lead designer. Prior to working in Abilene, she held a number of positions at the Killeen Daily Herald, including copy editor and features editor. Erin is a Lake Dallas native and a graduate of the University of Texas. Her first day is July 9.

Erin won two first-place awards in this year’s Texas APME contest — one for commentary and one for design. A few samples of Erin’s design work in Abilene:

When Erin graduated from UT, she wrote in the shirtail of her final film review:
After graduation, [Erin] plans to spend the majority of her time stalking Ralph Fiennes and watching reruns of Felicity on WB.
I’m glad she found something else to do instead. The DMN might not be as exciting as Felicity, but it’s not bad.
Congratulations, Erin!
