Happy birthday, Garry Trudeau
Here’s wishing a happy birthday today to Garry Trudeau, the creator/writer/artist of one of my favorite comic strips: Doonesbury. Garry turns 59 today.

Little known fact: We’re told his real name is Garretson Beekman Trudeau.
Find the Doonesbury home page, hosted by Slate, here:

Want to buy a Doonesbury book? You’ll find no fewer than 68 of them listed here:

Read a wonderful 2004 Rolling Stone interview with Trudeau here:

Garry shares a birthday with writer Ernest Hemmingway, musician Cat Stevens and comedians Don Knotts, Robin Williams and Jon Lovitz. Oh, and Kenneth Starr. You might consider him a comedian, too, depending on your political leanings.
In addition, today is National Tug-of-War Tournament Day. Seriously.
Happy birthday, Garry. Keep up the good work.
