Clif,

Should have googled "Clif Page Beaver County Times" a lot earlier than 9/4/2008. As you move toward your 53rd birth-day, a little oveer 3 weeks away, I extend to you a quite belated Happy 52nd and an early Happy 53rd.

Hope all is well with you and your family. It seems a long time since our days at the New Castle News (memories you might not revel in but are pretty good in my rapidly neuron-deficient brain).

I still remember that question in the hospital when you visited me in Youngstown, OH (March, 1981). Do you know this guy (you)? My quick response: "Clifton Keith Page ... do you think I'm an ignoramus?"

Be good to yourself,
rudy

I thank all of you for remembering this dinosaur.
I spent my "day" at work, but I spent my day off at Border's buying the latest Shephen Hunter and David Halberstam books. A good read should always be within your reach.
Most of us should be familiar with Halberstam, but Stephen Hunter, one of the film critics for the Washington Post, writes some wonderful novels. Imagine Tom Clancy plots with actual characters and writing to sustain them. Hunter rocks more than I do.
And yes, The Times newsroom sent two people to Robb's workshop. They found out about my birthday when Robb pulled up Charles blog in the classroom.
In between the software crashing on their Vista laptops, they let me know that I was too old.
MACS RULE!

CLIFTON! Happy birthday, friend. You'll have to hit Sheetz for a sub in your own honor. A toast from down here in Tampa Bay for No. 52.
