Let’s pause a moment to wish a happy VizEds birthday to Rogelio Aranda a copy editor at The Charlotte Observer. Rogelio turns 34 today.

Rogelio moved his young family into a new home last weekend in Charlotte. Congratulations on becoming a homeowner, my friend. You’ll have fun with that come April, when you see just how much a tax break Uncle Sam gives you.

Rogelio moved to the copy desk last October after nearly eight years on the Observer’s sports design desk. Previously, he worked at The Daily Herald in the Chicago suburbs and as an intern at The Tampa Tribune. Rogelio is a 1996 graduate of the University of Illinois.

Rogelio shares a birthday with actor Julie Kavner — better known as the voice of Marge Simpson. Other birthdays today include actors Corbin Bernsen and Richard Roundtree, the late Buddy Holly and graphics whiz Dana Oppenheim of The St. Petersburg Times.
