Arrival in Boston and everything is cool
As I begin this post, it’s 3:08 a.m. Thursday. Hell, I usually get up at 5:15 a.m.
But I’m too wired to sleep. It’s been a busy day.
My morning sessions in Atlanta went well, I think. At least the immediate feedback was terrific. That’s always a good sign.
Although it was considerably less humid today, I still broke a heavy sweat getting to the airport. In fact, I spent most of the day today looking like someone had dumped a bucket of dishwater on me from an open window.
The flight from Atlanta to Boston was a piece of cake. Despite the detailed instructions I had posted a while back on how to get from Logan to the Park Plaza, I was so tired when I got here that I elected to take a cab. The fare was $27.
I ate seafood tonight with the Globe & Mail’s Tonia Cowan — with whom I taught earlier this year in Manila — and Shraddha Swaroop from… well, from The Virginian-Pilot. Which is kind of funny, really: We both fly to Boston and then have dinner together.
We had a great time this evening, hopping from bar to bar, greeting old friends. We got tossed out at 2 a.m., but I suspect somewhere, there’s still a party going.
Quickcourses get going early tomorrow. The student session begins at 11. Kristin Lentz asks you to come downstairs around 12:30 or so if you’re interested in critiquing portfolios.
Oh, and I’m having no problem with the weather outside at all. I walked about a block-and-a-half, outside, wearing short sleeves at 2:15 a.m. I wasn’t uncomfortable at all.
I wish I could get the heat turned off in my room, though. I’ve sweated enough for one week already.
More after a few hours’ sleep…
