Virginian-Pilot re-hires former sports copy editor/designer
Virginian-Pilot sports editor Colleen McDaniel announced today:
I am happy to announce that Matt Logan has accepted our offer to return to the Pilot as a sports copy editor. His first day will be Nov. 5.
Matt worked here from 2000 to 2006 as a layout and copy editor. He also helped design and edit special sections and provided input and assisted on the redesign of Sunday sports sections and Monday NFL sections.
Matt comes to us from the San Antonio Express News, where he worked for 13 months on the copy desk.
He also worked at the Duluth (Minn.) News Tribune from 1992 to 2000 as copy editor, layout editor and reporter, covering a variety of sports such as minor league baseball, sled-dog racing and high school sports. He served as team leader from 1997 to 2000.
Matt is a graduate of the Indiana University at Bloomington.
Matt’s a swell guy. We’re lucky to have him back.
Congratulations, Matt! Thanks, Colleen!

Hey, I’m just getting caught up on my real life and such, so I’ve been neglecting blogs.
It was great to hear from you. I’m flattered that you checked/commented! I replied back there, but I wanted to send you a quick thanks here, too. Keep in touch!
