Two more internships of note

If you’ve not yet applied for visual journalism internships, take heart. There are papers out there just now getting around to placing their ads.

These two appeared today:

The Richmond Times-Dispatch summer internship program offers full-time, paid positions for 10 weeks for upper classmen or new graduates.These include three (3) reporting positions, two (2)multimedia reporter/producer positions, and a graphic artist (1) position. Our copy editing position is only through the Dow Jones Newspaper Fund copy editing program.In the fall, we offer one (1) photography internship position. This past summer, we paid our interns $450 a week.

The application deadline is December 21, 2007, for the summer positions. For the fall photography position, the deadline is June 6, 2008.

The Wall Street Journal (New York) is offering a 10-week paid internship in the Graphics Department during June-August 2008. The intern will work with graphics editors, news editors and reporters to produce statistical and data-based graphics for breaking-news and feature projects. The intern will also work with the Department’s art directors, photo editors, and color-lab staff. The internship is a paid full-time position.

Deadline to apply is Jan 15, 2008
