(Madison) Wisconsin State Journal redesign debuted Monday
As promised, here are before-and-after looks of the new Wisconsin State Journal of Madison, courtesy of David Dombrowski:

Before on the left; After on the right.
David writes:
We did a complete redesign - all the fonts are new and there is much more use of color. The main goal was to make the paper better organized and have more impact. So far the response has been very positive.
The biggest content change was getting rid of our Daybreak features section and replacing it with daily themed sections. The most radical ones debut Friday and Saturday, so we’ll see what kind of reaction those get.
The project was done in-house, David says.

Lots of Day 1 tint boxes, but I’ll be interested to see how it looks in a couple of months after the staff breaks it in.
