Nina Mehta returns to the Indianapolis Star
Nina Mehta returned to The Indianapolis Star today — but not as an intern. This time, she’s a full-time employee.

audio recorder we’ve ever seen as she

Indy AME Scott Goldman announced this morning:
Please help us welcome Nina Mehta back to The Star’s visuals team!
Nina was one of our Pulliam interns this past summer, and graduated in December from Indiana University, with degrees in Journalism (design) and Political Science. She has done quite a bit of traveling, including a lengthy trip to Europe, since wrapping up at IU.
While at IU, Nina was art director for InSide magazine, a new student magazine that won several awards in its first year.
Nina has worked extensively on the web, and is quite knowledgable about all things techie. She’ll be working mostly on Indy.com’s “print product” at the start, and we’re sure she’ll be contributing to the web site in no time at all.
She’ll be training in CCI this week, and will start next Monday on normal shifts. Please welcome her back to The Star!
Heh. CCI training.
Nina is sharp, clever and very, very good with new technology. Plus, as he says, Nina is very much a citizen of the world. She ain’t afraid to travel. Scott is very lucky she’s decided to start her career at The Star.
In return, Scott, his editor, Dennis Ryerson and the entire crew in Indy are wonderful mentors and teachers. Dennis gave me my own start in management nine years ago in Des Moines, in fact.
This is truly a great trade-off for both Nina and The Star.

Congratulations, Nina, Scott, Dennis and all involved!

Nice taser, lass!
Seriously, is a stereo recorder rigged with a properly kitted stereo mic in the classic X-Y configuration pattern really still all that uncommon? Wait. Answered my own question there.
At any rate - Nina mastered both the high-tech unit and the art of the field vox-pop in like 20 minutes and I am so proud of her. You can take a midwesterner to the ends of the earth - we will always return.
Bravo Nina!

It’s true. Send me anywhere in the world, and I’ll end up back in a cornfield! A real homegrown mid-western girl…sort of.
