Here’s wishing the happiest of VizEds birthdays today to Bill Wachsburger, a designer with The Baltimore Sun. Billy turns 38 today.

A graduate of the University of Miami, Billy worked at The State in Columbia, S.C., for several years before moving to The Sun in 2004. He designs page one four days a week, usually, sometimes filling in on the Maryland or Sports fronts.

Billy shares a birthday with Beatle George Harrison, Jim Backus — who played Mr. Howell on Gilligan’s Island — Jack Handey from the glory days of Saturday Night Live, longtime CBS newsman Bob Schieffer, and actors Téa Leoni and Sean Astin — the former married David Duchovny; the latter played “Samwise” in the Lord of the Rings films.

In addition. today is Pistol Patent Day, celebrating the day Samuel Colt patented his revolver. So celebrate by putting a bullet box on page one tonight, willya?
