Here’s wishing the happiest of VizEds birthdays to my good friend Claire Regan, the associate managing editor of The Staten Island Advance.

A 1980 graduate of Wagner College on Staten Island, Claire has been an assistant professor of journalism there since 1983.

Claire shares a birthday with Deborah Block of the St. Pete Times, actors Emma Watson (who plays ‘Hermione’ in the Harry Potter movies) and Elizabeth Mongtomery (’Samantha’ in the old Bewitched TV series), musicians Dave Edmunds and Roy Clark, author Henry James and artist/inventor Leonardo DaVinci.

Plus, today is Rubber Eraser Day. Seriously.
