Another round of Indiana Jones pages

I just got my hands on two more very, very nice pages — neither of which relied on the handout art.

CHRIS MOORE
The Hartford Courant

Chris e-mailed this afternoon:

Attached is a link to my Indy page at the Courant. We chose NOT to use the handout image, so we bought a replica hat from the promo site online and our staff photographer, John Woike created the set.

Courant Indy page

Oooooo. That is just gorgeous, Chris! Leave it to the Courant to knock out something so visually delicious.

For the benefit of our lesser-experienced readers, though, let me point out: Chris has reversed his text out of a deep blue background that fades to black. For most presses, that’s damn near impossible to keep in register. So don’t even try a page like this unless you’re sure the text will be readable in print.

CLAY SISK
Fort Myers News-Press

Clay posted this today at NewsPageDesigner:

Clay just started at the News-Press. I wrote him up a week ago.

Find more of his work here and here.

thanks for posting these. i get so sick of seeing the same handout art over and over again. it’s nice to have the time and resources to do this and give the readers something original. i bet there’s someone on your staff who’d absolutely love to do an indiana jones illo. or iron man. or even batman. hint hint. =/
