Happy birthday, Ryan Ford

Here’s wishing the happiest of VizEds birthdays to Ryan Ford of The Detroit Free Press. Ryan turns 29 today.

quarterback Matt Linert, left. Oh, wait — that’s Luke
Knox of The Arizona Republic. My bad. Photo taken

A graduate of Washington State University, Ryan spent several years as a sports designer for The Colorado Springs Gazette. A number of his pages graced my slide shows.

Then, about two-and-a-half years ago, Ryan migrated eastward to the home of Ford. He’s doing brilliant work for the Freep. Check out the stuff he did over the past few weeks, during the Stanley Cup run:

Ryan shares a birthday with recent Pratt Institute graduate Rachel Matthews, actors Noah Wylie, Angelina Jolie, Bruce Dern and Dennis Weaver, sex therapist Dr. Ruth Westheimer, singer Michelle Phillips of The Mamas and the Papas, King George III of England and Greek philosopher Socrates.

Plus, today is Old Maid’s Day. Seriously.

Happy birthday, Ryan! Have a great one today!

Happy birthday, old man! All Ryan wants for his birthday is a Stanley Cup tonight. That’s not too much to ask, is it? ;P

  2. Denise Covert Says:

FORD! Hope you have a great day, consume large quantities of fermented beverages and, er, don’t have to work. LOL! :-D

  3. Douglas E. Jessmer Says:

Happy birthday, man. Seems like only yesterday we were belly up to the Anchor bar. While I won’t be able to drink today, I’ll hoist one for you very soon.

We need to get those funny rubber bracelets made: WWWRRJVFD? :)

  4. Ernie Smith Says:

Yo, Ford, remember that five-minute period where it seemed possible we might be working together? Me too. I think it would’ve been too much concentrated awesome in one place.

That said, have a good get-older day.
