Tossing the political football in Orlando

In an election year, who better to feature on the front of your football preview special section?

Orlando football fronts

Orlando Sentinel sports designer and sports memorabilia blogger Chris Olds writes:

Friday’s Orlando Sentinel [will feature] both Presidential candidates — Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain — on the cover of the paper’s 60-page football season preview section. Each candidate will be featured on the front page — with his opponent on the back.

Obama was photographed after an Aug. 1 rally at Orlando’s Freedom High School by Joe Burbank. McCain was shot in Arlington, Va., by the Sentinel’s Gary Green.

Why does Sen. Barak Obama hold the football like he is ready to throw a 40-yard touchdown pass while Sen. John McCain holds the football like Lucy Van Pelt awaiting a Charlie Brown kick attempt?
