SND looking for help with next year’s contest book

The fine folks at the Society for News Design are looking for help with next year’s design annual. They need an editor for the book and they need a design for the cover.

Cover

It’s basically a design competition again this year. Build it 9 x 12 inches, but add a quarter-inch for bleed. Submit your high-rez, 300 dpi entry — in JPG, TIFF or PDF format — to Marshall Matlock by Nov. 27.

Read more about it here.

Editor

SND is looking for a one-time, editor for the inside of the book (”typically 272 pages or fewer,” the want-ad says). Sounds like a big job, but it’s a hell of a service to the news design community. And there is a stipend involved.

I imagine you’d be working closely with 30th edition coordinator Dennis Varney of the Lexington Herald-Leader. To apply, contact SND executive director Elise Burroughs before Oct. 31.
