Nanette has been deputy managing editor for presentation of the Chronicle since 2002. Previously, she was creative director of the Westchester County, N.Y. Journal News, creative director of the Orange County Register and vice president of newspapers at Danilo Black. She was given a lifetime achievement award by the Society for News Design in 2005.
Nanette shares a birthday with singers Placido Domingo, Mac Davis and Emma Lee “Baby Spice” Bunton, actors Robby Benson, Geena Davis, Telly Savalas and Benny Hill, fashion designer Christian Dior, golfer Jack Nicklaus and author George Orwell.
