Josh Crutchmer of the Chicago Tribune turns the big three-oh today. Josh worked A1 and sports design at The Oklahoman, the Arizona Republic and the Omaha World-Herald before taking on sports design duties at the Trib in November. Josh is also one of the brains behind the fabulous Sportsdesigner blog.
Gabe Hartwig has been at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch nearly five years. After a long run as A1 and special projects designer, Gabe became creative director of Go!, the P-D’s weekly entertainment section, in August. Ask him sometime about the shady photos of he and actor Kristin Chenoweth floating around the internet.
Crutch and Gabe share a birthday with president Theodore Roosevelt, supermodels Gabrielle Reece and Kate Moss (the former also is a pro volleyball player; the latter weighs about as much as a volleyball), race car driver A.J. Foyt, director John Carpenter and department store chain founder Marshall Field.
Plus, today is International Hot and Spicy Food Day. Seriously.
