Michelle McCleary spent the last four years as a features designer for the Republican-American of Waterbury, Conn. Like so many of us, she lost her job recently and is currently on the market. Previously, Michelle was an assistant editor with United Media syndicate and an associate editor at the Journal Inquirer chain in Hartford. Michelle is a 2001 graduate of the University of Connecticut.
Jeremy Fogt is a talented features designer and illustrated for the News & Advance in Lynchburg, Va. He’s a 2003 graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. His work on Indiana Jones and Batman pages really caught our eye last summer. Before he got into featues design, Jeremy specialized in sports for the N&A.
Today’s the big three-oh for Jeff Schnick, night business editor of the Dallas Morning News. Jeff was promoted to that position last May after a year as assistant news editor of the DMN business pages. Previously, Jeff was AME of The Abilene (Texas) Reporter News and worked as a designer at The Knoxville News Sentinel and The Orlando Sentinel.
Yuri Victor is a Product Design and Development Manager for Gannett corporate in McLean, Va. He was hired for that position last November after nearly three years as an online editor for the Times of Northwest Indiana. Yuri is a 2005 graduate of Purdue University, where he was editor-in-chief of the paper’s student newspaper, the Exponent.
These four share a birthday with actors Audrey Hepburn, Rainn Wilson of The Office and DeForest Kelley of Star Trek, filmmakers Federico Fellini and David Lynch, musician Paul Stanley of Kiss, talk show host Bill Maher and astronaut Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin.
Plus, today is National Buttercrunch Day. Seriously.
