A new RSS feed for journalism job seekers

There are so many folks out there looking for a new job. And a great many more who’ll soon be looking, if what we’re hearing about the next few weeks is correct.

VizEds founder Robb Montgomery has been busy looking for ways to help.

Robb writes:

I know it is a bad time to be looking for a job and even more frustrating not to be able to quickly find suitable ones.

Cheer up my displaced colleagues. Help is here.

In his downtime, Robb has created a new RSS feed. He’s calling it Media Professionals.

Media Professionals is a hyper-aggregated, algorithm-fueled, jobs feed Twitter-widget mashup with a Plaxo group for backup support.

Huh?

Showing you is better than telling it like that.

Just go here. Bookmark it and visit it often.

Here’s the Plaxo group — if you’re on Plaxo, feel free to join. And here’s the Twitter feed.

Robb says:

There are jobs out there.

And now we have another tool to help us track them down.

UPDATE: SATURDAY 11:24 A.M.

Robb just found this gem, as well: Tips for laid-off journalists who may have to get into something they’re dreading — public relations. Courtesy of former Daily Mirror deputy news editor Craig McGill.

Here’s the write up about it. And here’s the link to the 13-page PDF handout.
