Don’t forget: We’ll be in Cary, N.C., next Thursday

We’re hoping you’ll be able to join us at the Embassy Suites in Cary, N.C. for three hours of The Art of Being Brilliant, next Thursday, Feb. 12.

‘Brilliant’ in Dallas; April 2008.

The Art of Being Brilliant is a high-energy presentation about creativity and risk-taking in visual journalism.

The show is geared to papers big and small. In fact, that’s one of the main points we’ll cover: It ain’t the size of your paper that matters; it’s the size of your ideas.

We’ll start things off with an inspiring look at visually brilliant pages and how you can make your pages brilliant, too. After a brief break, we’ll come back with nuts-and-bolts tips you can take home and use in that night’s edition.

The cost is nada. The fine folks at the Southern Newspaper Publishers Association and the N.C. Press Association have once again made this show free to all. (As opposed, we guess, to a free for all.)

So sweet-talk your editor or professor into giving you a little time next Thursday to soak up some Brilliance.

We’ll be starting at 9 a.m. sharp. You won’t want to miss anything, though, so make sure you’re there by 8:59.
