Birthday for Wednesday, April 8
Here’s wishing the happiest of VizEds birthdays to Tracy Boyer, a grad student at the University of North Carolina.
Tracy is studying human + computer interaction in UNC’s information science program. A 2007 graduate of UNC’s school of journalism, Tracy interned for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and worked as the Chapel Hill correspondent for CNN. During her senior year, she was president of the UNC chapter of the Society for News Design. She spent a year as a multimedia producer for the Roanoke Times before returning to UNC last fall.
Tracy also writes a wonderful blog about multimedia journalism, called Innovative Interactivity. I added it to my blogroll weeks ago, but I’m happy to plug it here again, in the blog proper. Find that blog here and her Twitter feed here. Find Tracy’s personal portfolio site here.
Tracy shares a birthday with actors Kirsten Storms, Patricia Arquette and Mary Pickford, musician Julian Lennon, writer Barbara Kingsolver, former secretary-general of the United Nations Kofi Annan, alcoholism treatment advocate Betty Ford and Indian spiritual leader Gautama Buddha.
Plus, today is All is Ours Day. Seriously.
Best wishes, Tracy, for a very happy birthday!
