How editorial cartoonists are covering the media meltdown

Cartoon aggregator and expert Daryl Cagle has created a category in his vast archive of editorial cartoons called “Dying Newspapers.”

Part of me wants to smack him upside his head for using language like that. Talk about defeatist.

But then you look at the cartoons and you have to laugh:

Jimmy Margulies, Bergen County (N.J.) Record:

Terry “Aislin” Mosher, Montreal Gazette:

Steve Greenberg, a Los Angeles-based free-lancer:

I like your cartoon about the cickens and the H1N1 vaccine. You should do a cartoon with eggs layed out on a free range for vaccines. Since PETA and HSUS want to do away with caged chickens and go with range free chickens. It takes 3 eggs to make 1 H1N1 dose of vaccine, it would take a lot of chickens on free range to make enough doses for the US. It WOULDN’T happen, the eggs have to be in a completely sterile environment. California will be cage free in a oouple of years, and Ohio wants to put it on their ballot next election to vote on going cage free. Where to all these idiots think the eggs are going to come from to produce vaccine? People in this country better wake up, and do it soon.
