Jackie Barrientes is a designer for Sporting News Today, an experimental PDF daily sports newspaper in Charlotte, N.C. A 2005 graduate of the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, Jackie spent a year as a page designer at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram before moving to the Charlotte Observer in 2005. Jackie joined SNT last summer.
Valerie Green Zumwalt is a designer for Sigma-Aldrich, a technology firm based in St. Louis, Mo. A 2004 graduate of the University of Missouri, Valerie worked as a copy editor at the Star Tribune of Minneapolis, Minn., a designer at the Times Union of Jacksonville, Fla., and a designer at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. She also sells stationary via her firm The Editor’s mark.
Jackie and Valerie share a birthday with actors Carol Kane, E.G. Marshall, Bud Collyer and Isabella Rossellini; movie critic Roger Ebert; baseball great Lou Brock and musician Paul McCartney.
