Birthdays for Tuesday, June 16
Here’s wishing the happiest of VizEds birthdays to two very fine visual journalists…
Erin Cubert is a project manager for South Central Media in Nashville, where she deals with creative and technical resources for web development. She’s been there about a month and a half. A 2007 graduate of Ball State University, Erin interned at the Nashville Tennessean and the Lafayette, Ind., Journal and Courier, served a Poynter fellowship and worked as design editor of the Ball State Daily News before starting full-time in Nashville as a web designer and, later, a social media coordinator. Erin turns 28 today.
Joanne Miller was the art director of the Charlotte Observer for nearly 11 years. A 1987 graduate of St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, Joanne worked graphics at the Los Angeles Times and the St. Paul Pioneer Press before moving to Charlotte in 1997. She left the Observer last summer and is currently studing web scripting and markup. .
Erin and Joanne share a birthday with actors John Cho, Stan Laurel and Joan Van Ark, rapper Tupac Shakur, American Idol contestant Diana DeGarmo, writer Erich Segal, and former Washington Post publisher Katharine Graham.
Plus, today is National Hollerin’ Contest Day. Seriously.
Best wishes, Erin; Joanne, for a very happy birthday!
