Here’s wishing the happiest of VizEds birthdays to a couple of wonderful journalists…
Lisa Buie is editor of the central/east Pasco County bureau of the St. Petersburg Times in Florida. A 1987 graduate of Winthrop College — her freshman year was my senior year there — she served a Pulliam Fellowship with the Indianapolis News before working for the Rock Hill Herald and the Anderson Independent-Mail, both in South Carolina. She joined the Times in 1996 and was promoted to her current position in 2001.
Ashley Dinges is marketing director for the Merrimack Hall Performing Arts Center in Huntsville, Ala. A 2007 graduate of the University of Michigan, she previously spent a year-and-a-half as a news designer at the San Jose Mercury News. She also works as a freelance photographer on the side.
