Here’s wishing he happiest of VizEds birthdays to Dennis Varney, lead sports designer for the Lexington (Ky.) Herald-Leader.
Dennis has been in Lexington six years. A 1996 graduate of Western Kentucky University, Dennis spent four years as a designer and entertainment editor for the Times of Northwest Indiana before moving to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in 2000. Dennis was also the coordinator of this year’s annual design contest for the Society for News Design.
Dennis shares a birthday with singer Suzanne Vega, boxer Leon Spinks, fashion designer Giorgio Armani, “Octomom” Nadya Suleman, actors Tab Hunter and Yul Brenner, writer E.B. White, former president John Quincy Adams and George Eastman, the inventor of roll film.
