Here’s wishing the happiest of VizEds birthdays to a pair of fine visual journalists…

Luis Vilches, a designer for the Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk, Va. A 2002 graduate of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in Spain, Luis spent two years as a designer for Madrid’s La Gaceta de los Negocios and another year at Que before moving to the Pilot in 2005. Luis turns 30 today.

Ram Luthra is a sports designer for the Times of Northwest Indiana in Munster, Ind. A 2002 graduate of Texas Christian University, Ram earned a master’s degree in magazine journalism from Syracuse University in 2004. Ram turns 29 today.

Luis and Ram share a birthday with actors David Hasselhoff, Donald Sutherland, Phyllis Driver (otherwise known as Phyllis Diller) and James Cagney; writer J. Michael Straczynski; TV host Art Linkletter; TV reality show producer Mark Burnett and zillionaire John Jacob Astor.

Plus, today is National Peach Ice Cream Day. Seriously.
