Here’s wishing the happiest of VizEds birthdays to a trio of fine, fine folks…

Josh Baker is executive vice-president for client advocacy at JK Harris & Company in Charleston, S.C. A 1984 graduate of Winthrop College in Rock Hill, S.C. — where he roomed with yours truly — Josh spent many years as sports information director of the Citadel. Josh turns 48 today.

Chris Hanna is a news and sports designer for the Austin American-Statesman. He started his career in 1995 as a sports designer for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and then moved to the News-Journal of Longview, Texas, where he designed news pages and edited copy. He’s been in Austin nearly 11 years. Chris turns 40 today.

Aric West is an administrative assistant for the Des Moines Register. One of the more interesting characters I’ve ever met, Aric really ought to be a columnist or something. In his blog, he documents his life as a downtown resident of a medium-sized midwestern city who refuses to drive, preferring bus and train transportation. Aric turns 44 today.

Aric, Chris and Josh share a birthday with actors Anthony Edwards and Jared Padalecki, guitarist Brian May, politician George McGovern, accused — and acquitted — murderer Lizzie Borden and painter Edgar Degas.

Plus, today is Flitch Day. Seriously.
