Here’s wishing the happiest of VizEds birthdays to two wonderful visual journalists…

Patrick Clarke is a Raleigh, N.C.-based print and web designer. A 2007 graduate of N.C. State University where he was managing editor of the student paper there, the Technician, Patrick interned at the Detroit Free Press and the St. Petersburg Times. He worked as a web developer for OnWired in Raleigh and how owns his own development firm, 96studios. Patrick turns 25 today.

Dave Horn is a designer with the New York Times. A 1994 graduate of Syracuse University, Dave designed for the Jersey City, N.Y., Journal before moving to the Florida Times-Union of Jacksonville, Fla., in 1997. He moved two years later to the Sun-Sentinel of Ft. Lauderdale and then to the Times in 2004 where he designs pages for the Arts, International, Metro, National and Sports sections. Dave turns 37 today.

Dave and Patrick share a birthday with musicians Nick Jonas (of the Jonas Brothers), Marc Anthony and Riley “B.B.” King; magician David Seth Kotkin (better known as David Copperfield); baseball great Robin Yount; Saturday Night Live comedians Amy Poehler and Molly Shannon; and actors Jennifer Tilly, Mickey Roarke, Peter Faulk, Ed Begley Jr., Sabrina Bryan (of the Cheetah Girls and Dancing With the Stars) and Alexis Bledci (Rory of the Gilmore Girls).

Plus, today is Stay Away from Seattle Day and Collect Rocks Day. Seriously.
