Here’s wishing the happiest of VizEds birthdays to Xinning Huang, director of product development at BrandWizard in New York City.

A native of Shanghai, Xinning earned a degree in journalism from Fudan University in 2000 and spent two years at the Guangzhou Daily in China before enrolling in grad school at the University of Missouri. She interned with me at the Virginian-Pilot, earned her masters degree in 2004 and then returned to the Pilot for a year before joining BrandWizard — and internet-based branding firm — in 2006. She and her husband, Guan, are expecting their first baby soon.

Xinning shares a birthday with actors Ethan Hawke and Sally Field; musician Glenn Frey; supermodel Rebecca Romijn; the First Lady of California, Maria Shriver; baseball great Walter Johnson; James Naismith, the inventor of basketball and NFL star and fallen war hero Pat Tillman.

Plus, today is Saxophone Day and Marooned Without a Compass Day. Seriously.
