Here’s wishing the happiest of VizEds birthdays today to Megan Ruyle, a copy editor and designer for The Hill newspaper in Washington D.C.
A 2002 graduate of UNC-Wilmington, Megan worked as a copy editor and designer for the Wilmington Star-News before attending grad school at the University of Missouri. She then worked as a designer at the Lewiston, Maine, Sun Journal and then as a copy editor for Gannett’s Army Times Publishing company in Springfield, Va., just south of D.C. She moved to her current position in February.
Megan shares a birthday with singers Tina Turner, Natasha Bedingfield, Robert Goulet; impressionist Rich Little; baseball great Vernon Louis “Lefty” Gómez; broadcast journalist Eric Sevareid and Peanuts cartoonist Charles Schulz.
Plus, in addition to Thanksgiving Day, today is Shopping Reminder Day. Seriously.
