Daniel Hunt is a copy editor and page designer for the Orange County Register of Santa Ana, Calif. and a national board member and webmaster for ACES, the American Copy Editors Society. A graduate of Bakersfield College, Daniel spent three years on the sports copy and design desk of the Bakersfield Californian before becoming a community news editor for the Los Angeles Times in 2003. He moved to the Press Democrat of Santa Rosa in 2004 and, in 2008, was hired as a presentation editor at the Wilmington (Del.) Journal News in 2008. He moved back to California earlier this year. Dan turns 28 today.
Trent Koland is a designer for the Chicago Tribune’s RedEye tabloid. A 2003 graduate of Missouri State University in Springfield, Trent spent a year-and-a-half at the Times of Munster, Ind., before moving to RedEye in 2008. Trent turns 29 today.
Trent and Daniel share a birthday with actors Dina Meyer, Ali Lohan, Barbara Billingsly and Ralph Fiennes; musicians Jordin Sparks, Giacomo Puccini and two-thirds of the Bee Gees, Maurice and Robin Gibb; baseball greats Connie Mack and Steve Garvey and newly-minted ABC news anchorperson Diane Sawyer.
Plus, today is National Date-Nut Bread Day. Seriously.
