Indiana’s Larry Buchanan named SND student designer of the year

This year’s student designer of the year is Larry Buchanan, a junior at Indiana University.
UPDATE: Larry writes:
I interned at the Hartford Courant this summer after winning the internship in the SND Vegas Intern competition. I’m the art director of the Indiana Daily Student and Inside magazine. Journalism major with a second-concentration in Fine Arts.
Larry also is a lifeguard. He won a number of first-place awards in contests last year:
- Best front page, Indiana Collegiate Press Association
- Best sports page, Columbia Scholastic Press Association
- Infographic, Columbia Scholastic Press Association
- llustration, Columbia Scholastic Press Association
- Infographic, College Media Advisors

The second place winner was Taryn Wood of the University of Missouri. Finishing in third place was Kyle Ellis of Ball State University.
