UNC student project seeks your vote for a Webby People’s Choice award

Our pal Don Wittekind – a professor at the University of North Carolina — writes today:

Our kids at UNC built a summer web project called Powering a Nation. It has won tons of awards and is now up for the Webby People’s Choice award in the Student category.

And a very cool project it is, too. A couple of quick samples:

Don continues…

We’re trying to mobilize friends of UNC as this is one where you need people to vote to win. We’re in fourth place out of five at the moment, but positions 2-4 are very close.

So any chance you might mention us in the blog? I understand if this is too much shameless promotionalism, but it can’t hurt to ask!

Consider it mentioned, Don.

Again, to view the multimedia project itself, go here.

To vote, you’ll have to register. You can do both here.

Like Don says, the UNC project is — as of 4:30 p.m. Monday –ranked in fourth place:

Interestingly, another UNC project — one by the photojournalism department — is in distant fifth place.

Voting ends Thursday, April 29. But why wait? Help the kids out now.

After all, their basketball team tanked this year. This is the least we can do for ‘em…
