Video interviews with two of the world’s best-designed papers

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

Tuesday, VizEds founder Robb Montgomery posted a video interview with the women behind two of the winners of this year’s World’s Best Designed competition.

This is compiled from footage he shot last fall at SND/Vegas, we believe.

Robb writes:

Svetlana Maximchenko is the 27-year old Editor-in-chief of Moscow’s Akzia. Akzia was named a World’s Best Designed last year [in addition to this year] and is the toast of Russia.

Jördis Guzmán Bulla is the art director for Germany national Sunday edition, Welt am Sonntag and is also a multiple winner of top design prizes.

Two years ago she won the gold medal for graphics, last year her paper was voted Europe’s Best Designed Newspaper and this year her team won a World’s Best Designed Newspaper award for work produced in 2008.

Here’s the video:

In record time, too — it was only little over a week ago that judges flew back home from Syracuse.

The database was a little sluggish at first — Everything I searched for came up with no results. It’s all working fine now. Find it all here.
