Friday, September 1st, 2006According to Shayne Bowman and Chris Willis in their report “We Media: How Audiences are Shaping the Future of News and Informationâ€, “participatory journalism” is the act of citizens playing an active role in the process of collecting, reporting, analyzing and disseminating news and information.
With the title “Barcelona in a strong voice†El Periodico de Catalunya published on its cover of August 31, 16 requests made by ordinary citizens to the new mayor of the city council.
El Periodico also have a program in their website and via e-mail offering the possibility of making public suggestions and requests from the readers to Jordi Hereu.
The mail should include passport number, address and phone number to confirm the origin of the messages.
