A “beautiful” Metro edition

Following the trend of musicians becoming editors for a day, just like Bono did in the Independent, and Bob Geldof in Bild, singer James Blunt edited yesterday’s global edition of the free paper Metro.

Mexico’s editions did not print due to a national holiday.

10th European Newspaper Award

This year the best designed newspapers in Europe come from Sweden, Switzerland, Spain and Greece. A total of 236 newspapers from 27 countries participated in the 10th European Newspaper Award (eighth competition 287 participants, ninth 288).

The main prize winners
Due to the great differences in local newspapers, regional newspapers, national newspapers and weeklies, the main prizes are awarded in four categories. The following received awards at the 10th European Newspaper Award for best design and concept:
