API’s The Design Seminar, March 5-8

Innovative design has never been more important. Find out how to bring great storytelling and innovative presentation together on newsprint and screens at the American Press Institute’s The Design Seminar: Visual Storytelling for Print and Web, March 5-8, 2007, co-sponsored by the Society for News Design.

Program Highlights:

Designers’ Toolbox. Specialists in typography, photography and graphics turn on their power tools to show participants how to sharpen the effectiveness of their products. Learn tips and techniques of the World’s Best-designed Newspapers.

Creative Collaboration. Bring art and edit together in a collaborative workshop of collective idea-making inspired by a visit to the National Museum of the American Indian, located on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

Multimedia Storytelling Workshop. Learn how to integrate your newsroom to produce interactive, multimedia stories using animation, video, audio and graphics.

Designing Experiences. Reach new and existing audiences with news and information designed for the unique characteristics of each product and platform.
