Hello VizEd community, I have a request that I hope you can can help me out with. Our EIC at my college paper has asked all the editors to compile a wish list for this year and I was hoping to start a real reference section in our production shop. Does anybody have any recommendations on good books they've had success with to start the collection? I am looking for everything from color theory to typography. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a thread from 2004: http://www.visualeditors.com/forum/archive/can-you-suggest-a-good-design-book-1327.htm

Here's a list I stumble on a while ago. I can't vouch for any of the books though.

and here's a thread on typography books.

http://www.visualeditors.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=31650

add kimberly elam's trilogy (so far): "geometry of design," "grid systems: principles of organizing type," and "typographic systems."
