Well, THAT was an easy championship ...

We still have a book, a parade edition and a commemorative edition to knock out, but here are our efforts from last night:

Championship Extra (printed, fingers crossed, in advance).

Final Edition 1A

Final Edition special section (with all the bling filled in)

This is all really nice, Dean. No surprise, you guys have had a lot of practice!

But seriously, couldn't your advertising department find an advertiser who actually wanted to put the words "Spurs" and "congratulations" in its ad? Or is it just assumed in San Antonio that winning your fourth NBA title in nine years makes you want to rush out to the June tent extravagenza and there's really no need to tie the two together?

I'm sorry, but for all the extraordinary planning on your part of the three different covers, it seems like there could have been some planning on their part as well.

Sadly the extent of that planning tends to be: "Make sure the check clears." :)

We did have lots of high-priced full-page congratulatory ads both in the A section and the finals special section.

I hope you didn't take that as a negative on your part, Dean, everything that was in your control was really well done. It just makes me said when a 6 by 3 spot on one of your covers is that poorly though out, at least in my opinion. You only get one shot to get an ad on the Spurs' NBA title page and it seems like an ad as generic as that one doesn't cut it. It actually hurts your coverage. And that type of stuff always makes me really angry.

Great work as always.
