The Princeton Review has come out with its annual list of the top 20 party schools in the nation. West Virginia U tops the list, which unless you're an alum is really neither here nor there. What I found interesting was a paragraph near the bottom of the AP story about the list. The last three listings caught my eye:
Quote:
This year, WVU finishes among the Top 10 in several other categories: No. 4 in Students Pack the Stadiums; No. 5 for Best College Library; No. 6 for Lots of Beer; No. 7 for Lots of Hard Liquor; and No. 8 for Best College Newspaper.
Lots of beer, lots of liquor, and one of the best college newspapers in the country. You may now insert your own alcohol-and-journalism joke. _________________ The Occasional Odd Crop: Photos of whatever catches my eye
We used to run these ads in our college paper from whatever organization was against student drinking. They said, "Ten percent of Missouri students have more than four drinks per week." We used to say, "Ten percent have four or more drinks per week. Ten percent are journalism students. Coincidence?" _________________ All the region 3 news you will ever need!: www.visualeditors.com/bogdas

I always thought those stats were a little ridiculous. Four or more drinks a week? How about four or more pitchers a night? _________________ Rob Weir
