In the course of a week, I probably design 16 pages. This does not include the weather page, which is just pulling a PDF and sending it along.

EDIT: I forgot some of the inside "community" pages... make that 20ish. My boss, on occasion, has to design the local sections by herself. In one day, that could be somewhere up in the 60s range. We have six zones.

20-26 pages a week. Usually 3-4 a day when I do A1 and jumps (4 days) and 8-10 the one day I do Metro (giving the other designers a crack at doing a front or two) pages.

If I'm News 1 then about 20-25 per week. If I'm doing a local section, then about 30-35 per week.

Our designers are expected to do 10-15 tab pages per shift. Myself I do about five (which usually are all fronts or specials) I also am expected to oversee, revise, comment alter others

26-28 tab pages.

Beep's an entertainment/lifestyle weekly.

I'm the only designer and for the most part I design the entire thing in two days except for the cover, the two or three cover story pages and any interactive online graphics I have time to work on.

25 pages average. Sometimes if I'm doing two sections I get up to 30 and now that I'm doing two editions in a day it'll get up to about 35-40 pages a week.

That'll probably increase when I get to Features and Sports but then it'll probably shrink when I go to A1.

Well, when I was working at the weeklies I did about 60-75 pages a week, in 3 days. Plus all of the special publications since I was the lead designer.

Now that I'm at a daily I do maybe 20 a week, which is kind of fabulous. Big adjustment, but in the right way.

Now, about 25, three of which are section fronts. I also read all my own copy, lots of other people's copy/pages, and have mostly taken over as the late makeup person, who signs out final proofs back in composing. Most of our copy comes from freelancers, so it takes a little longer to read than staff copy.

At my previous job: When I was doing 1A, that was 2 1As and 4 inside pages per night. (Heavy zoning.) When I was doing local, it would be about 15-20 pages (2 inside local sections) plus one section front per NIGHT in season, when advertising was highest. Obviously I wasn't reading much copy then. Cool

40 to 65 per week, some of which include special sections and quasi-advertoril "special supplement" pages that seem to be chewing up a lot of our Berliner tab pages.

My paper, a small bi-weekly, was "contracted" into its next-door-neighbour, so now a larger community paper is serving two municipalities. That's put me into an interesting position where I'm the page-design grunt/assistnat editor/backup editor for three publications. I'm doing more pages per week than ever before.
