I am SO stealing Grayson's tattoo idea. Like a good rug, the registration mark just pulls it all together.

Man, me too. Now I'm having second thoughts about this thread. I was gonna stop at two tats and that's such a good idea...

damn.

Another unintended benefit: This thread has given all of us bloggers a alternative photo of Nicole to use instead of the Orlando candid pic in our many stories about her career move.

I'm still trying to figure out how to get rid of this puppy.

I have no sympathy for Beard's plight -- after he announced his move to whichever of those "I" states he now lives in, I warned him I don't know how many times to never, ever go drinking with Kenney Marlatt. I did it, like, one time in San Jose, and the next thing you know 10 years are down the drain, I'm cleaning the trunk of my car out with bleach, dying my hair red, burning my fingerprints off with acid and buying a one-way bus ticket to Cleveland ...

Yeah, it's just too bad you can't tattoo individual layers of skin. Then the registration marks might REALLY come in handy.

http://www.bodytypebook.com/

great book about typographic tattoos that i'm sure somehow fits peripherally into this thread. if you're in or around new york city, the moma bookstore was selling signed copies when i was there in june.

i worked this thing up a number of years ago, but i've just never felt the need to pull the trigger. i wanted to embody identity, design, precision, geometry, the printed letter and, by extension, the word.
