Thanks to those of you responded to my earlier post enlisting help in a legal action I was exploring against Mr. K. The defamation of character action surrounded the latest viscious Wikipedia profile he created about me in which he described me as someone who, among other things, spends my time "creaming in her pants about page design, which readers don't care about."

Mad Mad Mad

After obtaining his home phone number, and leaving a message threatening legal action, a lengthy email exchange ensued that included my demand that "If I don't get an apology from you right now, my lawyer will."

Finally, the upshot:

"I'm sorry there was a Wikipedia post you were offended by. Do not take that as some sort of fear of you or the Sentinel. It simply wasn't worth discussing any more."

Rolling Eyes Whatever. For the record, I have no idea what prompted this malicious attack. My heroes today are Charles Apple and Martin Gee. Thanks for your help, gentlemen.

Wow, Bo, sorry to hear about the trouble. His statement looks like one of those nonapology apologies: "I'm sorry about your reaction to what was done, not that I'm admitting I did anything wrong, you understand."

Still, you probably couldn't expect more from Mr. K, and if you're satisfied, hopefully that'll be the end of it. I've generally advocated ignoring the jerk, but that kind of personal attack obviously couldn't go unanswered. Good on ya, and on Martin and Charles.

wow, what an insincere "apology." kinda like rosie apologizing for her "ching chong ching chong" crap.

no prob, bo. but don't thank me, thank the internets and 2 minutes of free time.

Quote:
Jim: Hey, man, I never got a chance to thank you.
(Dwight looks puzzled)
Jim: ...for stopping Roy. Thank you.
Dwight: Thank you not necessary, and thus not accepted. I saw someone breaking the law, and I interceded.
Jim: OK... Got ya something.
Dwight: Don't want it.
Jim: You don't know what it is.
Dwight: Don't want it, won't open it, don't need it, won't take it. Citizens do not accept prizes for being citizens.

Holy crap, Bo. That's just, um, sadly, typical.

That goes beyond personal and for that I'm truly sorry. I'm also sorry you had to even respond to that.

gooch.

Oh man, Bo, that sucks, sorry you had to go through that! Sad *hugs*

He usually ignores me, guess I'm not worth his attentions, but one time on NPD he told me to quit having all those babies (for the record, I have one). So I told him to quit telling people I was carrying his love child, it was supposed to be a secret! He left me alone ever since. Evil or Very Mad

I hate to sound like the bad cop but, Mr. K did not apoligize. He simply refused to continue the dialogue.
What he did was mean-spirited, wrong and could easily carry the weight of legal action.

Robert has emailed me asking to help put a stop to this thread now that he has issued an apology. So let's move on to the next conversation.

I mean, how about that Virginian-Pilot? Very Happy
