I'm very sorry to announce that designer Sara Reeves is leaving the Sentinel to join the Peace Corps. Her last day will be Aug. 17.
Sara and her husband, Cale, a master furniture designer, will be stationed in the South Pacific for 2.5 years. He will teach woodworking and she'll teach English. The two have wanted to pursue this level of volunteerism for some time and are thrilled to be accepted into the program.
Sara is one of the most nimble, creative, technically savvy designers I've had the pleasure to work with. She's designed nearly every section of the paper here with flair, bringing strong conceptual skills to every assignment. She's produced some of our most memorable front pages, metro fronts and Local In-Depths. But nowhere has she made a stronger mark than in Business, rejuvenating Your Money and revitalizing CFB magazine.
So where, exactly, in the South Pacific will you be?
You gonna try and kidnap her to help with your next presentation in Kuala Lumpur?
Seriously, while Central Florida will miss you, Sara, you are one cool chick and this sounds like something you will love. Best wishes to you and your husband on your new grand adventure! _________________ The soul walks not upon a line, neither does it grow like a reed.

There is no point to having dreams if you don't chase them.
Go.
Be good.
See the world.
You will be better for it. _________________ "I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by." Douglas Adams
Thanks everybody. I will let you know when I know more specifics about where I am going. We will most likely find out 6 weeks before we leave (which is in October). _________________ Frank Herbert had it wrong. CCI is the little death that brings total obliteration.
