I'm thrilled to report that Stephen Beard of the Cleveland Plain Dealer will be joining us next month at the Indianapolis Star. As our Senior Graphic Artist, Stephen will add his considerable visual reporting skills and artistic expertise to the Star's growing visuals staff.

While Stephen's work has been recognized by SND, Malofiej, the AP and other news organizations, his efforts truly speak for themselves. You can check out his portfolio at News Page Designer here:

The Star's graphics department was recently honored in SND's Best of Newspaper Design competition, and received a Bronze Medal in the annual SND.ies Best of New Media Design competition. Wow ... Congratulations to everyone involved. The Indy Star has been making some really good hires; it's very cool to see the team they are building there in the Hoosier state. I am sure Mr. Beard will be a welcome addition. Kudos all around!
