Web video journalism - Advanced story forms
Two day workshop - May 8-9, 2008 in Chicago
Description: Advanced level workshop on planning and developing stories that engage audiences with high degree of web video integration and community interaction. How to plan and produce documentaries, manage triple-narrative pieces, how to shoot pieces to camera, develop solo VJ skills, and techniques that allow journalists to field produce videos in the shortest possible time in order to get them online.
Who? Multi-media editors, story producers, video editors, solo JVs.
Requirements: Students will bring their own portable kit to the classroom (Camera, laptop and editing software)
Schedule: Two Days. Students will be expected to film and edit pieces outside of the formal instruction periods.

Instructors: David Dunkley-Gyimah is a senior lecturer, at the University of Westminster (UK), founder of ViewMagazine.tv, winner of Batten Award and International video journalism award and 20 year broadcast journalist e.g. BBC World Service and ABC News (South Africa.)
Robb Montgomery is the CEO of Visual Editors and former visual editor at the Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune. Montgomery trains print journalists in multimedia reporting and digital journalism techniques in newsrooms and classrooms in more than 15 countries.
