Independent “viewspaper” needs reinvention
The Independent editor, Simon Kelner, has said the distinctive “viewspaper” front pages his paper has been producing can be “boring”.
Speaking in an interview published in a new book called Designing News from Cases Associats, who helped redesign the paper a few years ago, he said: “We are very honest with ourselves - we think sometimes our front page can be boring. Sometimes it just does not work, but when we get it right, we get it freaking right”.
