Peter Saville D&AD President’s Lecture
The Creative Review blog has posted some highlights from Peter Saville’s President’s Lecture for D&AD.
Saville, while he was art director for Factory Records, is the man behind the great record covers for Joy Division and New Order. He was also briefly a partner with Pentagram in the early 90s.

Closer by Joy Division, 1980

Power Corruption and Lies album for New Order, 1983

True Faith single for New Order, 1987
And one of my favourite albums:

New Order, Technique, 1989
Saville has exhibited internationally, with a major retrospective staged at London’s Design Museum and subsequently in Tokyo and Manchester in 2003.
